We offer our students many opportunities to be involved in the community by participating in food drives and volunteering at our local rest home to serve the elderly in our community.
Not only are our students' minds stimulated in the classroom, but they are given many opportunities to explore the world around them through walking field trips. Each class will regularly attend theatrical productions at Honeywell Center, learn through hands-on play at the Wabash County Museum, go bowling, get ice cream, play at the city park, and open their minds with endless book options at the Wabash Carnegie Library. Not all our field trips are walking ones; the students also have traveled to the glass factory in Kokomo, the pumpkin patch, the Catholic Schools' Day convention in Fort Wayne, and the Asherwood Nature Preserve for Earth Day.
St. Bernard is truly a big family, and we have activities throughout the year that involve the entire family. We have a School Carnival, Talent Show, Imagination Day, Christmas Program, and Grandparents' Day.
Each child is given the opportunity to put their classroom learning to use and enter in friendly community competitions through the Battle of the Books, Math-A-Thon, Kiwanis Spelling Bee, and the school Science Fair.
