Our Kindergarten prep class is designed to prepare little minds and hands to go to Kindergarten. All learning begins with curiosity and our children are given every opportunity to use their creativity and imagination through cutting, gluing, painting, music, and instruments. They're often not aware that they're learning as they are taught math through sorting and classifying objects, English through reading books and writing, science through nature and field trips, and foreign language through Spanish instruction. Through lots of hand-on activities and the use of our classroom smart board our preschoolers learn about color, shapes, numbers, how to recognize and print their names, and the beginning steps of reading.
Books are a very important part of our curriculum and children's minds are engrossed as they attend the Wabash library weekly and hear the librarians bring literature to life. Learning also extends outside the classroom as children are able to attend shows at the Honeywell Center, hike in nature, and attend field trips. Through our program, your child will be prepared to seamlessly transition into Kindergarten the following year.
